1506 LORRAINE STREET - UNIT B, HOUSTON, TX @ HVTC
Why a new venue? Architecture embodies how people may move, sit, meet, or feel...
An exchanges of emotion formed between perception and context. We are
focused on working with local property and business owners to re-imagine and activate spaces as preeminent stages via design proposals for those interactions.
We facilitate an open community dialogue between investors and entrepreneurs
to connect and collaborate between locals to bring change to an area.
BLNKA (Blahn-Kuh) Digital Showcase is a (two weekend) gathering of all ages showcasing: local digital artists, musicians, and the culture that makes up the emergent fabric of Houston.
On digital art:
This show focuses on the dialog and the questions that emerge now that digital space and virtual place are parts of of our everyday lives. Digital space is inspired by the human eperience. New tools and processes are emerging all the time, and digital art allows for the semi-direct interac- tion of the artist with the end product; processes as art. Digital art, like any medium is an artistic practice where we can control sensory space; activating architectural space. Digital process work may be presented as an unfinished series, or as a stand-alone retroactively finished work. Some paintings, or assemblage (3d collage), using traditional media may join that conversation about the emergence of those new tools. Light and sound reactive and reflective thoughtscapes (virtual reality as sensory space) are in the near future for the performance and use of those tools.
With our show, BLNKA aims to bridge the gap between the digital creative world and the physical world-an exploration of analog and digital art and our emotional experience. Digital documentation, collage and sculptural assemblage are all being exhibited using tools, including: AI-generated images, interactive CGI, augmented reality photo and video content, virtual sculpture and more.
